It is not uncommon for criminal charges to result from car accidents. The bicyclist was considered to be in critical condition as a result of the crash. The vehicle driver was taken into custody and is currently facing multiple charges, included driving while intoxicated, not having insurance, felony hit-and-run, driving while license revoked and felony serious injury by motor vehicle. At the time of the report, he had been released from custody with a future court date.
