Born in Goldsboro, N.C. 1959. Graduated Goldsboro High School 1977. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English, Writing and Editing, N.C. State University, 1981. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) North Carolina Central School of Law 1988 Clerk to Judge Hugh A. Wells North Carolina Court of Appeals 1988-1989. Admitted to practice North Carolina State Bar 1989.
